祈福儀式由布農族傳統靈媒胡金娘以傳統的「點酒」方式進行，並邀請蔡英文總統參與祈福，讓祖靈認識總統，保佑總統。
祈福儀式接著以最多原住民信仰的宗教、基督教方式禱告，邀請6位原住民族神職人員，包括副主教杜勇雄、神父林國璋、牧師星˙歐拉姆、牧師張以諾、牧師李明福和牧師拉娃告˙拉歌拉格帶領禱告儀式。
6位神職人員先以各族語言開頭，最後由張以諾以中文禱告結尾，張以諾禱告時表示，懇求主帶領蔡總統，用愛翻轉國家，實現國家轉型正義。
祈福儀式結束之後，蔡總統與雅美族長老一同上台，總統隨即發表道歉文，稍後也由原住民族發表回應趕言。
包括親民黨主席宋楚瑜、時代力量黨主席黃國昌、民進黨秘書長洪耀福、行政院長林全、監察院長張博雅、考試院長伍錦霖和司法院長賴浩敏，都出席了總統向原住民道歉的儀式。
